Bourne & Hollingsworth’s Festive Pop-up – The Winter House

December 21, 2017

Who said Cocktails aren’t for Christmas?!

When it gets to this time of year, all we really want to do is snuggle up in the warmth watching Home Alone (or whatever your favourite Christmas film might be!)  But last Saturday, I opted for a change and decided to spend my evening at Bourne & Hollingsworth’s The Winter House pop up in Soho, featuring a range of World Class cocktails on their gorgeous menu.  I was pleasantly surprised at how the atmosphere managed to be both cosy and vibrant at the same time and with an amazing variety of drinks on offer, there really is something for everyone, so definitely no arguing about deciding what drinks to choose!

My favourite cocktail had to be the Raspberry Collins – Tanqueray No. TEN, raspberries, lemon, sugar, soda.  If you’ve got a bit of a sweet tooth like me and still hope for Summer throughout Winter, then this is the perfect drink for you!  This concoction gives you all the fruity/summer vibes and with a pinch of lemon, it’s perfectly refreshing!

My sister ordered the Rumbullion – Ron Zacapa, Pedro Ximenez sherry, all-spice syrup and Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée and she was  kind enough to let me have a few sips of her drink!  As a December baby, I can see why she opted for this choice – this cocktail is perfect for rum lovers and with a pinch of ‘all spice syrup’, it easily wins the best Christmas cocktail!

We also ordered a non-alcoholic Honey Bee –Tanqueray London Dry gin, honey, grapefruit, Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée and it tasted every bit as delicious as the alcoholic varieties to make sure teetotallers and designated drivers won’t feel like they’re missing out.

Other drinks at The Winter House include the Eastern Promise with Cîroc vodka and grapefruit, the Yule Stride for fans of Johnnie Walker Blue Label whisky, sweetened up with rosemary syrup, and balanced with walnut bitters and a hint of smokiness, and the Message from Home made with Don Julio Blanco tequila, avocado and coriander puree, lime and smoked salt.

Along with the delightful drinks menu, group head chef Anthony Horn has also put together a menu of classic British festive fare using locally sourced ingredients – the very finest food to accompany some outstanding drinks.

If you’re struggling to get into holiday mode, or want to extend the festive vibe beyond Christmas, The Winter House from Bourne & Hollingsworth in association with World Class Drinks is the perfect limited edition drinking and dining luxury experience all under one roof!
