July 28, 2016
Leading the ultimate luxurious lifestyle is easy with the sleek and stylish new Targa 53GT from Fairline. Luxuria Lifestyle spent the day aboard this stunning new yacht on a beautiful day in San Remo, Italy, testing its sea-keeping abilities and comfort to the maximum.
Fairline’s unfaltering 50 year reputation to make fantastic boats which can perform effortlessly in less than perfect conditions makes them a renowned and popular choice, while the Targa 53GT is the perfect example of a true ‘boater’s boat’ with an upscale elegance exuding from every inch of its 53 feet. With the involvement of world renowned Vripack, known for their naval engineering excellence, and now with Italian yacht designer Alberto Mancini of AM Yacht Design aboard for future projects, Fairline’s future is moving about as fast and as effortlessly as its performance on the sea.
So, what’s so special about the new Targa 53GT? Boarding the boat at San Remo’s marina, we were blown away by the sheer quality of the boat, its features and its unique customisable design. Appealing to the global yacht market, the Targa 53GT features an unrivalled bespoke option so that the boat can fit the buyers exact specifications. Want the galley upstairs or down? Want twin or double suites? Want an extra cabin for crew or prefer a storage area? It seems Fairline have second guessed your every wish and then gone that one step ahead. These flexible layout options are testament to Fairline’s understanding of what you want out of your boat, prioritising your needs.
The social aspect of the 6-7 birth Targa 53GT was one of the things I loved most about it. Access to the downstairs galley and suites was always open via the wider than average lobby and stairs, so if you’re in the kitchen or the bedrooms, you’re never going to feel shut off. There’s also a twin helm, so if you’re sailing the boat, there’s the option of some company (if you want it!) And the cockpit has a brilliant L shaped seating concept, with loungers for up to three people on the back of the boat with an adjustable back rest. A three piece patio door ensures you can open up the whole boat for socialising inside and outside, or for less than perfect weather, close off the cabin from the cockpit and enjoy the state-of-the-art air con system. There’s also a rise and fall bathing platform at the back of the boat for tender access or just a spot of well deserved sunbathing!
In the cabin itself, if you’ve opted for a downstairs galley, you’ll gain an extra sofa upstairs – bonus! Meaning more room for lounging around and bathing under the fantastic natural light that’s provided by the overhead skylights. There’s 4 more skylights in the glazed retractable hard top with pneumatic seal, which opens and closes seamlessly at the touch of a button. GALLEY – Ice maker, fridge, bbq and sink. hob, fridge freezer, oven, microwave equipped with everything you could ever need.
You’ll find absolutely beautiful touches every where you look on the Targa 53GT: the stone work tops, the stunning slabs of marble swirling around in the saloon; elegant light fittings; the attention to detail in the piping and stitching on the sofas and headboards; soft luxurious fabrics and leather finishes. The bedroom are truly beautiful – especially the master bedroom with its ample sized shower in the en suite, huge double bed and vanity dresser with stylish light-up mirror and overhead feature lighting. There’s four interior schemes to choose from, all equally as lavish as the next, not forgetting the aluminium venetian blinds and beautiful oak flooring – yes if you’re used to high end furnishings, this boat is most definitely for you. There’s also an air of effortlessness in the design when it comes to maximising every inch of space. Fairline really have thought of everything from the full length mirrors on the backs of the doors, to the clever crew cabin space which you’ll find under the cockpit. There’s a folding high and low dining table and drinks unit which can be neatly packed away when you’re not entertaining and the 40 inch flat screen TV is compactly hidden, operated on a rise and fall remote control.
With the latest Garmin navigational technology, a choice of three engine sizes ranging from 30-34 knots and £100,000 of available options, the Targa 53GT’s soft riding hull makes this sports boat a joy to hit the waves with. Factor in the exceptional styling, high end finish and attention to detail and the customisable layout which really makes this yacht your boat, it seems Fairline truly have thought of everything, ensuring the ultimate exclusive experience every time you set sail.
Prices start from £649,200 excluding VAT, with the twin Volvo Penta D11-675 EVC engine option.
