Oxo Tower Brasserie’s New Autumn Menu

October 15, 2018

Oxo Tower Brasserie is one of a handful of restaurants in London that you can rely on should you be looking for a night out with a sense of occasion.

Maintaining that air of exclusivity which makes it perfect for any celebration or special evening out, Oxo Tower’s location – smack bang in the middle of the South Bank, with those floor-to-ceiling glass windows and sweeping views over the Thames, are a winning combination for a first class dining experience.

Oxo Tower Brasserie’s new Autumn menu makes it the perfect place to sample a seasonal, rustic menu in gorgeous surroundings in the coming months leading up to Christmas.

Take the lift up to the eighth floor and be guided to your table in the quite frankly – huge restaurant, which is always packed out.  If you’ve thought ahead you’ll have booked a really good table – one with a view, so you can admire the London skyline including stunning  St. Paul’s Cathedral while you peruse the new menu.

Head chef Keir Barry is responsible for the new Autumn offering at Oxo Tower brasserie.  For a very reasonable £33 for three courses including a glass of delicious Prosecco, you can choose from starters like the hearty roasted butternut squash soup, with grilled sweetcorn and tangy lime creme fraiche with a kick courtesy of a chilli rouille; warm confit duck salad; or grilled mackerel with pickled golden beetroot, horseradish, celeriac and apple remoulade.

Mains include the juicy pork chop which comes with crackling crumble, chorizo and a green tabasco and parsley aioli which perfectly compliments the meat; the roasted salmon with mashed hermitage potatoes; or the roasted salmon.

While you dig into your delicious mains, the live band plays in the background, along with the sounds of lively chatter, glasses tinkling and cutlery clinking.

Desserts include the comforting pumpkin cake (super seasonal with Halloween coming up) which is served with carrot jam and vanilla ice cream; butterscotch brûlée, or peanut butter brownie.  There’s plenty of choice for vegetarians on the Autumn menu with in fact all desserts suitable – just looks for the ‘v’.

The staff are excellent, and it becomes apparent very quickly that their training includes tasting all of the dishes available on the menu!  This comes in very handy if you’re not sure what to choose as their advice is really spot on.

Accompany your ever so reasonably priced three course dinner with a bottle of wine – there’s over 800 to choose from would you believe?!!

And if you’re not sold on the Autumn menu (although it’s so scrumptious, we can’t see how that might be…), there’s also a full and extensive Oxo Tower Brasserie menu also running alongside it offering up everything from salads, to seabass, scallops and lamb rump, to seabream and steaks from the grill.

The Autumn menu at Oxo Tower Brasserie is available now.  £33pp for three courses including a glass of Prosecco.
