There are also numerous scenic country walks, cycle paths and bridleways nearby or the other wool towns of Long Melford, Hadleigh and Sudbury are just a short drive away. Today Long Melford is famous for the quality and quantity of its antique shops and two stately homes, Melford Hall (National trust) and Kentwell Hall, which stages regular historic re-enactments. The Swan is also ideally situated to explore the heart of Suffolk where the rolling countryside inspired such well known landscape artists as Constable and Gainsborough.
B&B starts from around £185 per room per night for two sharing and dogs are welcome at £12 per night. The hotel has a civil wedding licence and can accommodate private dinners for 10 – 100 guests.
