Dr Manrina Rhode features in BBC Documentary
On BBC iPlayer is a documentary exploring the TikTok trend of ‘Turkey Teeth’ young people travelling abroad to save money on a brand new smile. However, experts believe such treatments are putting individuals at risk and could end up costing significantly more to rectify the damage done by bargain cosmetic dental centres in Turkey.
Dentist of the Year 2022 Dr Manrina Rhode is the UK expert on the documentary (BBC Programmes) and she says:
‘I don’t have an issue with patients travelling for treatment. Patients should have treatment wherever they feel comfortable. I do have an issue with practitioners anywhere cutting teeth unnecessarily and creating health issues for patients with unethical treatment plans. The findings in this documentary are shocking! A must-watch for anyone considering Turkey Teeth’
