FifteenFifteen – Elegant and Ethically Created Home Furnishings
December 15, 2016
FifteenFifteen is a London-based interiors and lifestyle brand that celebrates a crossover of fashion and art. The company ethos is to create refined luxury home accessories and art, using local workshops in an ethical and principled way.
The design studio is run by Natalia Petrov, a London-based interior designer and artist. Natalia’s work includes painting, fabric and interior design. Natalia has always had a keen interest in Abstract Art and interior design, citing Mark Rothko as her major influence. Natalia participated in a group art exhibition at Brick Lane gallery in 2010 and has since then sold her art internationally. Having turned her passion to interiors, Natalia graduated with Merit from KLC School of Design in 2014 and went on to work for major interior design studios, where she contributed to design and development of hotels, restaurants and residential properties.
Presently, Natalia is designing a substantial family home in Hampstead, London and undertakes private interior design consultancy work. She also holds a BA in French Studies obtained at Queen Mary University of London, a Private Client Advice and Management Diploma accredited by CISI and is fluent in Russian.
Each design starts in a sketchbook made up of collages, mixed media compositions and watercolours. Dedicated, ‘computer-free’, playful time in the studio is key to her creative practice. FifteenFifteen find that interior design and fashion, as well as art, are closely linked and the work is therefore inspired by these disciplines.
Once developed, designs are digitally printed in the United Kingdom to minimise environmental impact and to support the local economy. By digitally printing the collections not only do they obtain vivid and vibrant printing results, but also minimise fabric wastage.
Backing fabrics for each collection are sourced from London’s oldest fabric suppliers mixing the old with the new – from silks and velvets to organic cotton and brocades.
The production of the collections takes place in the East End of London. FifteenFifteen work with a small independent factory, favoured by high-end fashion houses, because of the unrivalled quality of work and ethical treatment of the workforce. The support for local businesses and suppliers is the ethos of the studio – to create responsibly made and limited edition products.
Natalie hopes that the work is perceived as something clients would aspire to live with day after day and enjoy its eclectic influences. In short, with Natalie’s influence the FifteenFifteen hope that the collections are perceived as elegant, accessible and ethically and aesthetically pleasing.
The collections are available online at Wolf & Badger, Eporta and Dering Hall as well as the website.
