On arrival we were greeted by the friendly and efficient hotel staff & shown to our room.  The rooms are a tad on the small side (luckily our Frenchie fitted nicely but a Great Dane may have issues!) and they could do with a touch of updating but were very clean, comfortable and had wonderful views of the first tee.  The room was also situated on the ground floor with direct access through patio doors to the grounds, perfect for you pampered pooch to run around.  Once we had settled in we headed upstairs to sample the afternoon tea offering.  This was delicious, a great selection of sandwiches including Cotswold ham with mustard and smoked salmon with capers, homemade warm scones both plain and fruit and a selection of cakes that would satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth.  A dog bed and toy was also laid out in preparation for us.

After tea we decided to go a long walk and take in the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds.  Only a couple of hours drive from London, you really do feel transported into another world and it is the perfect pets retreat!  When dinner time finally came round we had worked up a good appetite and sat down to a lovely three course meal and one course for our French Bulldog.   She was treated to a lovely dinner of roast chicken, potatoes and gravy whilst my fiancé and I opted for the scallops with chorizo and the soup of the day (tomato and roast pepper) to start.  Both our starters were fantastic, full of flavour and well presented.

For mains we picked from the Grill section of the menu and opted for a rump of steak and a sirloin both with chips, mushrooms, tomatoes and béarnaise sauce.   The steaks were cooked well and really delicious – Marlie our Frenchie even got a little taster of this and heartily approved!  For dessert it was a Cotswold cheese board that jumped out at me and did not disappoint.

Breakfast the following morning was a well-rounded buffet offering a full English selection, continental options and fresh juices.  Our pup was given her own bowl once we were seated and proceeded to pick some sausages for her breakfast which she gobbled up!

After breakfast we headed to the spa to relax.  I picked the express facial which was very relaxing, soothing and refreshing & my fiancé had a full body massage which he thoroughly enjoyed.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, it really is the perfect get away for dog lovers who need an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.  PetsPyjamas makes the booking system so simple and so much is included in the price that you’d be barking mad not to try it out.
