I never thought I would get my girlfriend to play pool – well certainly not in your average snooker or pool hall! But Q Shoreditch is no ordinary pool hall – far from it. It’s a sophisticated and sleek New York style bar and games venue, with pool, entertainment including DJ’s, trick-shot professional players and some bargain brunches. She is already asking if we can go back again, and it certainly was not just for the amazing cocktails they serve!

Just a few minutes walk from Old Street Station, you walk into a ‘mini-Vegas’, complete with showgirls and professional croupiers on the gaming tables, who are more than happy to guide you if you have never played blackjack or roulette before. As helpful as they are as professionals, of course, they do want to beat you!

The atmosphere is great, and along with the fully stocked bar, you cannot fail to enjoy yourselves at this venue, which is held over two floors. For all those searching for a venue with a difference, this activity-based offering is a certain winner. With the rise in ‘bars with a difference’ in the capital, Q Shoreditch has hit the nail on the head with this new venture.

It’s great for couples, but fantastic for a group of friends, who can avail themselves of an inclusive package, which includes two hours play on any of the tables, and an even bigger bonus – free Prosecco or cocktails, burgers or pizza for an hour, all for £40 per person. A fantastic night out, and pretty inexpensive for what you get. My girlfriend had the gluten-free pizza and loved it.

We also sampled their signature cocktail, Tommys Margarita, but the choice was difficult due to the alluring list they provide. The atmosphere and ambience is perfect and easy to relax in, even if you have never played pool or the gaming tables. The comfy Chesterfield sofas made it so easy to forget where you were.

Q Shoreditch has thought about everything. If you want to hold a private party or a client event, you can hire their private facilities that can cater for up to 60 people. Perhaps you want to treat your staff at Christmas or other times of the year – this place is perfect to combine both work and partying.
Do try this great place – it won’t be long before you have to ‘queue’ to get in!
