W Bali offering a luxurious lifestyle uber chic holiday destination
W Bali is a fun luxury lifestyle resort, full of colour and vibrancy. The hotel is designed to ensure the Balinese culture is of a major influence and includes features such as a Balinese rice terrace inspired wet pool and chandeliers in the lobby that resemble traditional temple roofs. As you walk through the reception area, the view down towards the Woobar and the beach is simply mind blowing. The cerise pink thick and comfy sun loungers draw you in to the relaxed and super cool atmosphere. There are all ages, dozens of different nationalties and all walks of life here, but all visiting the W Bali to soak up the sun, enjoy the bespoke cocktails, the fine dining, the luxury grounds and beautiful unusually designed rooms and suites.
We checked in to our Spectacular Ocean Facing Guest Room, with two queen sized beds and an ocean view balcony. I say ocean view, it also looked out over the pool area and the Woobar, and was the perfect spot to relax with a pre dinner cocktail. Our room was bright and freshly decorated in shades of apple green, with funky lighting, spacious wardrobes, a luxury bathroom with a huge powerful shower and equally as luxurious smellies. We decided not to unpack immediately, we just threw on our swimwear, grabbed our suncream and books and made the most of our limited time in the sun by the pool.
The outside was beautifully landscaped, and has a huge variety of sunbathing areas, bars and restaurants. There was a poolside waiter service, so we enjoyed a couple of delicious lunches in the shade on our huge daybed. The guests enjoyed the Woobar cocktails well in to the evening, while using the sunset as a great instagram backdrop. The mixologist was on hand all evening to create our very own fabulous cocktail. We had a couple of vodka based recipes and indulged in some sweet potato chips and nachos, it’s the perfect area in which to wile away an hour or two at the end of the afternoon sun.
Dining in W Bali is an exciting affair, the Starfish Bloo, this is a Pan-Asian beachside restaurant with Western flavours. We decided to try the hot stone sizzling salmon, we cooked small pieces of premium fish on a hot stone plate, it was a fun and delicious way to enjoy the salmon, we had some sides of fries and salad. Our fellow diners were having a fabulous night too, and created a rather glamorous but relaxed ambience.
Breakfast was available in Starfish Bloo and Fire, the other restaurant we dined in, breakfast here was stunning. Before you are seated for breakfast you need to choose your mug, there is a gigantic choice of colourful china cups and mugs, it just begins your morning feast with a little fun. The buffet is the same to some degree in most five star hotels, but Fire breakfast involves a really unusual collection of seating areas. The fresh pastries were all slightly different to any we’d enjoyed before, lots of fabulous flavours and fillings. There was a selection of local jams and breads and we were able to order anything we wanted from lovely hot and freshly prepared choices.
We had a really super couple of days here, the hotel has a great relaxed vibe, a little less formal than other hotels, but offering the same level of service, dining facilities and luxurious decor.
W Bali is situated in Seminyak, one of the most prestigious and fun areas of Bali, featuring bars, upscale clubs and luxury restaurants that are just around the corner from the hotel, there are high-end boutiques galore, offering gorgeous clothing, gifts, jewellery and basket-wear, and of course the obligatory surf-wear, in keeping with the legendary Petitenget beach, where the sunset is just stunning and the surf pumping.
This was an altogether glorious couple of days, we loved the hotel and everything about it, and the surrounding area held a lot of interest too.
